TMS | Tigh mo Sheanar |
Our public bar, Tigh Mo Sheanar, adjoins the hotel, and is open Monday to Saturday.
We serve freshly-baked pizzas and other tempting bar snacks here as well as a range of draught beers.

Throughout the year we host live music nights in TMS so you can enjoy traditional Scottish tunes and songs from aspiring island artists and some from further afield.
We show all the major national sporting events but more importantly you can also hear local post-match analysis of the island football results and especially those of Harris Football Club!
This bar is dog-friendly…for friendly dogs!
History bit - TMS is an abbreviation of the Gaelic name Tigh mo Sheanar, meaning “my grandfather’s house”. So why that name?
The expression “Tha mi dol suas gu tigh mo sheanar” (I’m going up to my grandfather’s house) became local code (back in the day!) for popping out for a dram, and so after a previous refurbishment in 1989 the name Tigh mo Sheanar was hung over the door, where it remains to this day.
(Top photo shows Tommy Cameron, proprietor until 1971 (right) and head bar-man Murdo “Murdag” Morrison (Scott Road) in the old bar, circa 1960.)
